The challenge
Solar-energy operators need to monitor and control on-site inverter hardware without being tied to a desk or a vendor cloud. A renewable-energy (solar) operator needed a mobile app that connects straight to the inverters on the local network - for live readings, historical logs, configuration, and control - across both Android and iOS.
Untethered
Operators needed to work away from a desk, straight from a phone or tablet on-site.
No vendor cloud
The app had to connect directly to inverters on the local network, with no cloud dependency.
Two platforms
The same experience was needed on both Android and iOS, from a single build.
What we built
A cross-platform mobile application (Flutter, Android + iOS) for inverter monitoring and control - each capability answering a specific operational stake above.
- ◆Direct device communicationTalks to on-site inverter hardware over Modbus TCP on the local network, with no cloud dependency.
- ◆Live monitoring & controlReal-time readings, historical logs, device configuration, and control features.
- ◆Role-based accessAuthentication and roles scoping what each user can see and do.
- ◆One codebase, two platformsA single Flutter app delivering the same experience on Android and iOS.
The stack
Industrial-grade software on a hardware foundation - delivered jointly with Spectrum Technology.
Delivery model: Spectrum handles the hardware and field integration; Silex builds the software, apps and dashboards. The same blue-chip partnership behind BPCL, Indian Railways and both airport projects - which is how a senior ~15-person software team delivers hardware-integrated systems at national scale.
Results
A single mobile app now monitors and controls solar inverters directly, on both major mobile platforms - no backend or cloud required, communicating with hardware on-site, putting live and historical visibility of energy equipment in the operator's hand.
Why it matters
This renewable-energy (solar) operator rounds out Silex's industrial-IoT range: after airports, LPG terminals, and railway fuelling, the same hardware-integration expertise applied to renewable energy - on mobile, cross-platform, straight to the device. That is the same discipline Silex brings to a B2B ordering platform or a retail stack - engineered to your business, owned by you, and supported for the long run.
