Systems that never quite agree
A separate POS at the till, stock tracked in spreadsheets, an online store that reconciles by hand. Disconnected systems create mismatched inventory, conflicting promotions and delayed reporting.
POS + ERP + e-Commerce + Inventory + apps - one connected POS software, built to fit how your chain actually runs, and owned by you outright. Procurement to checkout to analytics on a single source of truth.

Proof, in numbers
The retail stack
Silex connects POS, inventory, stores, e-commerce, procurement, payments and analytics in one platform - keeping orders, stock and customer data in sync across your retail operation.

The full retail stack
Everything a retail chain needs to trade, restock and report - built as one system, not six that have to be reconciled.

Live stock across every store and warehouse, one source of truth, transfers and stock-takes built in.
Fast till operation, barcode scanning, returns and multiple tenders - resilient to patchy connectivity.
Purchase orders, supplier catalogues and goods-in feeding straight into stock and costing.
Chain-wide offers, price rules and customer loyalty applied consistently at every till and online.
Head-office reporting on sales, margin, stock and store performance in real time.
A customer web store and apps sharing the same catalogue, pricing and stock as the shops.
The difference
A separate POS at the till, stock tracked in spreadsheets, an online store that reconciles by hand. Disconnected systems create mismatched inventory, conflicting promotions and delayed reporting.
One platform running procurement, inventory, checkout, promotions and analytics. Every offline store, warehouse and online channel stays in sync in real time - giving you one connected view of your entire retail business.
Retail formats
Silex builds POS software for high-volume retail where speed, stock & margins matter. We help you keep your stores running fast, your inventory in sync and your retail operation moving at scale.

High-volume checkout, weigh-scale and perishable stock control.
Size and colour matrices, omnichannel returns and clienteling.
Serial tracking, warranties, financing and scheduled delivery.
Many stores, fast checkout and central control across franchisees.
The comparison
Stop stitching together five systems that don't talk. Multiple systems mean multiple integrations, duplicate work and data that doesn't match. Silex brings your POS, inventory, sales, online store and operations together in one connected platform. Here's how a Unified Retail POS Software vs. Multiple Retail Software Systems vs. Off-the-Shelf Retail SaaS compares.

| Capability | Point tools | Unified Silex stack | Off-the-shelf retail SaaS |
|---|---|---|---|
| One system, one login | No | Yes | Partial |
| Real-time stock across stores | Patchy | Yes | Yes |
| You own the code & data | Varies | Yes | No |
| No per-transaction fees | Varies | Yes | No |
| Fits your whole chain | Partial | Yes | Grows costly |
Flagship case · India
A multi-store Indian grocery/FMCG chain operates its entire retail business - procurement, inventory, POS, promotions, e-commerce and analytics - on a single end-to-end retail ERP + POS we built. Live since 2025 and grown with them from ~30 to 53 stores.
"Head office finally has one live view of every store, and our stock actually matches the shelf. Silex understood how a chain really runs - and we own the whole thing."
Ways to work with Silex
Choose your path and we'll show you what matters most to you.
Billing in one system, stock in another, online somewhere else - and a day spent every week reconciling all three. One platform means one stock figure, one price change, one report, and staff who stop re-keying between screens.
Growth breaks the seams between systems long before it breaks the systems themselves. We have taken a grocery chain from 5 stores to 53 on one platform - store by store, never big-bang - with head office seeing every till, every transfer and every margin in one place.
Sell retail technology without building it. Offer your clients a mature POS software for retail that syncs inventory and sales across all your e-commerce platforms & offline stores - your logo, your domain, your pricing - while Silex runs the engineering, the hosting and the updates behind it. The same stack already running 53 stores.
How we engage
We map your current tills, stock and online setup and where they break.
Stand up the platform to fit your operation - or connect what already works.
Go live in phases so trading never stops; staff train as you scale.
We stay on to run and support the platform as your chain grows.
Questions
It's what runs your checkout counters. At its simplest, point of sale software rings up the sale and takes the payment. In a chain it has to do a lot more, because every sale should come off the stock figure straight away, in the store and online. Ours does that across 53 stores for one grocery client, with inventory and e-commerce on the same platform.
A subscription is the quick start, and for a single shop it's often the right call. The sums change as you add stores, because the fees grow with every checkout counter while a platform you own doesn't. Owning also means the code and your sales data are yours. Our grocery client went from 5 stores to 53 without paying a per-store licence.
It depends on how many stores you run and what the POS has to connect to. A few stores on standard hardware is a much smaller job than a chain that needs e-commerce and an ERP link as well. We price it after the free assessment, once we've seen your checkout counters and your stock setup. There are no per-transaction fees afterwards.
Expect a pilot store in 8 to 12 weeks. After that we go store by store, so each one is stable before the next goes live and you're never trading blind. The full timeline depends mostly on store count and integrations.
Most likely. We work with the usual terminals, scanners, weigh scales and receipt printers, so you rarely need to replace anything at the counter. On the ERP side we sync both ways with systems like SAP, Dynamics and NetSuite, and we connect to the major payment processors.
Yes. Your checkouts keep selling offline, and once the connection is back the sales and stock changes sync on their own. Nothing gets lost, which matters on a Saturday when the queue is out the door.
Yes, and it has to, because the two need very different things at checkout. Grocery needs weigh scales and tight control over perishable stock. Fashion needs size and colour matrices, and returns that work across channels. We configure the POS around the format rather than forcing every store into the same screen.
Yes, and live rather than at the end of the day. Sales and stock from every checkout counter roll up into one head-office view, so you can spot a store running short before a customer does. That's how our 53-store grocery client runs its chain.
A single shop mostly needs a fast checkout and takings that add up at the end of the day. Almost any decent POS does that, and a subscription is usually the sensible choice. A chain is a different problem. Stock moves between stores and the warehouse, and a price change has to reach every store on the same day. Head office also needs to see every checkout live, not in an end-of-day report. That's where a POS system built for retail chains earns its keep, because it treats the whole business as one stock pool instead of a set of separate shops. Our grocery client runs 53 stores this way.
